Matthew Freedman, MD, MBA, leads the Advanced Cancer Imaging Division for the ISIS Center. Dr. Freedman is a Radiologist and Associate Professor of Oncology in the Division of Cancer Genetics and Epidemiology at the Georgetown University Medical Center. Dr. Freedman has been active in lung cancer detection research since 1974 and in breast cancer detection research since 1989. His main projects are related to screening for lung cancer using computer-aided detection, screening with CT, and a study of the mechanisms by which alcohol causes breast cancer. Dr. Freedman does imaging research in both human subjects and animal models.
